Your day on the bike sounds like more fun than poking fun at islamophobes. I recently bought a bike (haven’t taken possession yet!) after being without one for almost a decade. Cruiser (2006 FLHPI) this time rather than a crotch-rocket.

You’ve got me by a couple of years (not much!) and my monsters are still in high school so I hope they don’t decide to make me a granddad for a couple more years. I was teasing Cynapse, nothing more.

Experience is a relative thing. I know young people who’ve packed more into their few years than most and oldsters who did nothing.

@Mac – first off, apologies for the late reply, I spent yesterday on the bike being the NASCAR dad that I am…. hydroplane racing on the St Lawrence Seaway, stock cars at the dirt track, gasoline, oil, exhaust, loud engines, burning rubber, salty french fries, and cold beer — gods I love summer !!

Secondly, there is no “dancing with delight” happening here, there is only the simply mocking of Islamopobes – if you’re not one of don’t worry.

I’m with Cynapse and I’m way more worried about the threat posed by the uber-authoritarians among us and white supremisists than I am about some guy hiding in a cave somewhere.

@Mac (again): I’m not sure about your experience (or that of Cynapse) but I’m 50 years old, have seen a whole lot of things, met a whole lot of people, raised 4 kids, and am now bouncing the grandkids on my knee — what sort of experience were you talking aining anyway?

Since Mac will never turn into a hated minority he won’t ever start agreeing with me, so we’ll have to settle for habitual grousing. It’s less a function of the computer screen (which is pretty lightweight) than it is growing up in rural Canada and seeing its PC-free, multiculti-free face (what many on this board hope the entire country will become). So, Mac, you can wait until I have great grandchildren and there will still be no mob-rule endorsement coming from these quarters.

Hope you feel better now, Jack. See, it’s all part of the game … Different experiences, different views. No reason not to post an article.

It don’t know why it bothers me. It just does. A difference of opinion is expected but I don’t like it when racial overtones start to invade my space.

Let’s be honest. This story is about a pair of fruitcakes. They exist in every community and rave and howl about anything which pisses them off. It’s just noise unless they act out their stupidity (I’m thinking McVeigh).

I posted this story in the wrong area.

It was meant as an alert and nothing more but I was in a hurry because I had yardwork to do and wanted to get it done before it warmed up to +10c.

Not sure why it would bother you, Jack. Anyone who enters into a comment section at any point knows there’s a chance someone won’t like what they have to say. This kind of information is important because it flies in the face of Western chauvinism and the self-perception of people who practice it. You could have posted about anti-abortion terrorism or environmental terrorism without the underlying message changing. It’s neither your fault nor mine some people have a problem acknowledging such.

I’m a little confused here but shouldn’t the left be calling for these two misunderstood terrorists(freedom fighters) to be immediately released, and for the Canadian government to offer to take them in and provide them with sanctuary and citizenship, like lefties usually do for all the oppressed terrorists(freedom fighters) around the globe? I mean, as the left usually argues, what harm could Abousfian Abdelrazik, or Omar Khadr, or Chinese Uighurs, or the Toronto 17, or these two possibly get up to once they were allowed to roam free in Canada?

… which takes us back to the original attack in the article, designed no doubt to eradicate immigrants and their foreign cultures. With such casual ideological support from “regular citizens”, does it matter so much that the actual number of w.supremacists is actually small? Entire political parties thrive on courting the anti-immigration and anti-multiculturalism vote. The attackers simply turned right-leaning sentiments into actions and now the right-leaning are trying to distance themselves.
