Which beach was it Gordon? (1)

obama_beach_thumb1After a bruising week in the Commons it was hard to imagine how things could get worse for the beleaguered Prime Minister.

But Gordon Brown managed to pull yet another gaffe out of the bag when he confused the name of the beach where the D-Day landings took place with that of the American president.

In his speech he referred to ‘Obama Beach’ rather than Omaha Beach, the correct name of the scene where thousands of American soldiers lost their lives.

The ‘Youtube if you want to’ uttered by Hazel Blears came back to haunt him once again as he became the subject of another web-based hit, but this time unintentionally.

After a drubbing in local elections on Thursday, Mr Brown received another blow on Friday when Europe minister Caroline Flint flounced out of Government accusing him of using her as ‘female window dressing’.

The PM appeared to receive little comfort from his fellow leaders Barack Obama and Nicolas Sarkozy and he had all the appearance of a spare part during the D-Day proceedings.

Obama and Sarkozy seemed only interested in greeting each other.

Speaking as one who’s father was terribly wounded in WWII after his Mitchell’s bomber crashed, was terribly burned, and spent 30 months in hospital, and after all that, even when he was exempt from further service, rejoined the RAF in active service, I am offended.

Ferchrissakes Brown, you are the PM of Britain…such lapses, on this day in particular, are inexcusable….RESIGN

Agreed. My father was also badly burned during that war on the banks of the Rhine River (he was a tanker).  This man boggles my mind and if he isn’t gone very soon I will give up on the island I was born on.  I’m thinking about all the stupidity going on as I write …trash collection comes immediately to mind.

There’s a lot more but if you’re thinking of “La La Land” Britain is most certainly that and Labour made it so.  Time to fire them all.

Unfortunately Britain may have reached or passed the tipping point.   It is going to take a  very strong leader to turn things around.  Socialism, nanny state, immigration and a bankrupt treasury conspire against them.   Tough times are ahead.  I’m not very optimistic.

Notice how ‘Dear Leader’ did not even flinch when Brown made his error.    The ‘O’ probably thought “I wasn’t aware that they’d renamed this historic beach after me.   A genuinely fitting tribute to me after my lifetime of achievements which I bring to everyone’s attention at every available opportunity”.
