Peter Mandelson’s claim that Gordon Brown is doing a great job is in tatters after it was revealed that he called the Prime Minister ‘insecure, self-conscious physically and emotionally, uncomfortable in his skin and angry’ in a leaked email.
The deeply wounding criticism was disclosed the day after Lord Mandelson rescued Mr Brown from a Cabinet revolt and was rewarded with the post of First Secretary of State – effectively Deputy Prime Minister.
The Business Secretary led a media blitz claiming that the revolt had been crushed and ‘good-humoured’ Mr Brown was the best man to lead the Labour Party and Britain
The claim was visibly at odds with Mr Brown’s strained demeanour at the 65th anniversary of the D-Day landings in France, where he seemed exhausted and, at times, ill at ease alongside the composed Barack Obama, Prince Charles and Nicolas Sarkozy.

Goodbye, Mr. Brown… you won’t be missed….
I agree. Gone in less than a week.
The article on Blair intrigues me. Could it be “Bring back Blair” time?
Blair did nothing to prevent the evolution of the EU from an economic union into a political one and brought GB a long way down the road to socialism… Not my favorite politician…
Agreed but any “solution” in a storm is better than nothing.
