The head of eHealth Ontario will receive $317,000 in compensation after she stepped down from her role at the provincial agency.
The agency has been bombarded in recent weeks with reports of untendered contracts and allegations of misspending and mismanagement.
Sarah Kramer, CEO and president of eHealth, stepped down after the eHealth board recommended late Saturday that she be removed as the agency’s CEO.
A spokesperson for Ontario Health Minister David Caplan said it was “a mutual agreement to part ways.”
Officials at the board say Kramer will receive 10 months’ salary as compensation even though she was entitled to 15 months severance pay under her contract.
Kramer had been accused of awarding friends and Liberal supporters $5 million in untendered contracts.

Fraud charges need to be laid against this woman and her cronies on the board. Corrupt friends of the Liberal party should face jail time just like anyone else would. Where are the police?
