MaryT, that is just my personal wish list, I doubt that many MP's in the Conservative party would buy into it.

MIM, careful there, the libs and dippers will pick that up and call it Harper's secret agenda. I think what a lot of our base forgets is we have a minority and those opposition members must support us to get it passed. Then we have the senate.
I wonder what the results would be if those were platforms, most of us want those things. I would add that protester who are canadians of convienience who bring their home country's problems here are immediately jailed, assets seized and then deported, never to be allowed to return, and none of their family can get in for 3 generations.

I would really love for the Conservatives to get a solid majority, then we could find out if they really are Conservatives.

Things I would like to see under a Conservative majority Gov't, not necessarily in this order of priority.

*CBC gone.
*HRC severely limited in the scope of their authority or gone.
*RCMP out of provincial and municipal contract policing.
*Firearms registry gone.
*$1.95 per vote taxpayers subsidy to political parties gone.
*Referendum on senate reform. 8 year terms with 1/2 elected every 4 years on the fixed election dates. Senators to be independents, not members of parties.
*Increase size of the military
*Reform military procurement so it doesn't take 20 years to get stuff in the hands of the soldiers.
*Reform the Canada Health Act to allow private for profit treatments. (Cut down on medical tourism to other countries, and keep Drs in Canada).
*Make the overall taxation system conducive to having manufacturing return to Canada.
*Cancel any programs that cater to the Global Climate Warming Change scam.
*Bring about legislation to make it easier for nuclear power plant and oil refinery construction.
*Quit kissing up to Quebec and First Nations.
*Reform the Dept. of Indian Affairs.
*Give the Auditor General authority to audit departments that are currently off limits.

then after coffee break.

*Legislate world peace*** S*S*S*S (I just had to throw that in there.)

I could probably think of more, but that would keep the Gov't busy for a few days.

MaryT - I watch the debates for my political news in Canada. The msm does not report the news - they just spin for the coalition (Puffins/Dippers/Blocheads). The Conservatives had cracking down on crime as an election promise in the last campaign. No spin here Mike, just getting the job done, as promised.

I watched a lot of debate on the various crime bill on cpac last week, (too lazy to find the remote) and it is sad that when debate goes on there are only about 6 or seven members there.

2 scenarios, The Conservatives are either trying hard to force another election, or are honestly trying to clean up all the messes from years of liberal rule. I ascribe to the 2nd one, but it still may get us an early election.
