Nine killed after kidnapping in Yemen
The bodies of a missing British man and his South Korean wife, along with those of three German children and their father have been found in the mountains of northern Yemen, three days after their abduction by suspected al-Qaeda militants.
The grisly discovery came just hours after shepherds found the bodies of three German women who were among the group snatched whilst picnicking on Friday in the lawless northern Saada region, an increasingly active hideout for al-Qaeda militants.
The foreigners – including a British man and his South Korean wife, a German couple and their three children and two other German women – had been working as medical staff in a hospital in Saada.
British and German officials in Saana said they were making urgent enquiries with the Yemeni government for information about the hostages’ fate.

I just don’t understand why Westerners insist on going into lawless countries and expect to be treated with respect and to have personal safety. The inclusion of children on these “missions” is akin to child abuse. Shame on them for exposing minors to this possible outcome. Tourist season in Yeman – enter upright leave in a casket. Unbelievable.

They go because they are nieve. They believe that if the occassion presents itself they will be able to talk reason with unreasonable people. Could they have been so utterly nieve that they thought having children with them would be some sort of an additional insurance gaurantee from these blood thirsty killers? People who send suicide bombers onto school buses full of children no less. Go figure.
