Cemetery Workers Charged

cemetary_thumbThe Rev. Jesse Jackson lambasted the four alleged “graveyard robbers” charged with digging up graves and dismembering bodies buried at a suburban Chicago cemetery in a moneymaking scheme.

The four cemetery workers are accused of taking cash payments from unsuspecting clients for plots of land, falsifying deeds, excavating existing graves and dumping the bones and remains in the back of the cemetery, authorities said at a news conference.

They would then allegedly bury the new corpses in the already-used graves at Burr Oak Cemetery in Alsip, Ill. Police called conditions at the historic cemetery “startling and revolting.”

“The human degradation is immeasurable,” Jackson told reporters. “There should be no bail for these graveyard thieves. They deserve a special place in hell.”

Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart said workers at Burr Oak allegedly tampered with about 300 graves, digging them up, dumping the bodies and reselling the plots to unsuspecting members of the public.

The three men and one woman were charged Thursday with one count each of dismembering a human body.

Dart said the woman was the cemetery’s office manager and was at the center of the operation.

How could this go one for so long without anyone noticing.  Did no family member ever visit said desecrated grave and notice a different name.

My sympathy and condolences to the families whose loved ones have be treated so callously and with comtempt.  My beef is with the Rev Jackson.  Why does he have to appear at every news event?  Did the American media run out of credible, sympathetic commentators?  As soon as he shows up, I leave the news story, as the event becomes a circus.  What a crass, self serving, bombastic man.  The Rev Sharpton is not very far behind.  Jesse’s  Motto “Have Ego – Will Travel”.

Pictures of the  gravediggers and the woman behind this scheme were finally shown and they are all black.  So, no racism can be levelled at anyone other than them.
How many stories have there been in the past few years about cemetaries being vandalized like that, or the crematorium that just tossed the bodies away.  Maybe instead of health care O should come up with a plan to protect the dead.

I agree, fernstalbert.  It’s either Jackson or Al Sharpton at the scene of the “crime” within minutes of a “black” news story breaking.

I’m getting sick of both of them.  They really are ambulance/funeral chasers, aren’t they? Within milliseconds of the world finding out MJ died, there I saw Al Sharpton on the TV, blah blah blah blah blah.

Hmmm, isn’t it a bit convenient that they always seem to be handy to comment?  Remember, pyromaniacs like to remain at the fire to watch what happens, LOL!  Al didn’t dissuade one woman caller to his radio show from her stupid theory that “Sarah Palin did something to MJ”, did he?

They’re necessary to counterbalance the Rush Limbaughs, David Horowitzes and Michael Savages of this world.
