One day after two ACORN officials in Baltimore were fired for offering to help a man and woman posing as a pimp and prostitute to engage in child prostitution and a series of tax crimes, another secretly shot videotape has surfaced that shows the same couple getting similar advice from ACORN officers in Washington.
The newly released videotape, shot on July 25, shows ACORN staffers explaining to the pair how they can hide the woman’s professed work — prostitution — and get a loan that will help them establish a brothel.
James O’Keefe, a 25-year-old independent filmmaker, posed as the pimp while visiting the ACORN office, accompanied by 20-year-old Hannah Giles, who posed as the prostitute. On a videotape provided to FOXNews.com, they are seen receiving guidance to establish the woman as the sole proprietor of a bogus company to mask the nature of her business.
“She’s not going to put on (the loan application) that she’s doing prostitution … she doesn’t have to,” the ACORN staffer says. “You don’t have to sit back and tell people what you do.”

Notes:
As I said yesterday, a “target rich environment”.
Obama is up to his wallet in ACORN (one of his biggest if not ’the’ biggest financial contributor to his election campaign)……imagine that. Of course Obama denys any such association just like he denies everything else that is dug up from his sorrid past. I wonder just how much it will take to convince the MSM in America to start taking an honest look at this guy.
‘The ACORN Obama knows’
http://michellemalkin.com/2008/06/25/the-acorn-obama-knows/
How much stimulus money did this organization get. Who will pull the plug on their funding.
These people are the maggots on the morally dead democrat party.
Sitting outside thinking about this and I have to say the film producer’s idea has a lot of potential. There’s no telling where it could end.
Incredible, admirable even that both O’Keefe and Giles, aside from the fact they are both amateurs, both depleted their personal savings to get this done. Where has the MSM been with it’s much deeper pockets and overall resources? Glenn Beck has been exposing this corrupt outfit for months utilizing shocking evidence and the self-professed professional MSM (including law enforcement) is either too lazy, too incompetent or too in the tank for Obama to want to go near this story. You may choose either 1, 2 3, or all of the above. Whatever, it is going to get stuffed down their throats, dragged kicking and screaming to their computer terminals and ‘forced’ to cover the story whether they like it or not, just like had to be done with the Van Jones issue.
Well, at least they are finally shedding some light on what community organizing is apparently all about, diversifying our neighborhoods with the addition of underage El Salvadorian sex slaves, pimps, prostitutes, brothels, thugs, deceased voters, immoral social workers, shady politicians, and crooked accountants and such. That does help to explain why the housing markets never did get far off the ground in so many inner city neighborhoods, but maybe next someone can get around to explaining why this is all such good solid experience towards becoming President of the USA.
More Acorn employes fired today, plus the US census bureau has cancelled all contracts with them. That is the really good news. Imagine how many non living people they could have listed in cities etc.
Re#2. According to Glenn Beck ACORN is going to receive $8.5B of stimulous money. Yes, you read that correct BILLIONS not millions!
Do you not find it amusing that when
– a Catholic priest diddles dozens of little boys and girls it’s him, and not the organization he belongs to, that is morally corrupt.
– a Republican congressman goes out and screws around on his wife and it’s him, not the party he belongs to, that is to blame.
– US soldiers play out their sexual fantasies with prisoners at abu Ghraib and they are “a few bad apples”, but the organization they belong to is solid.
But two individuals from a group that is unpopular in these parts do something shady (and possibly illegal) and it’s the entire group that gets painted with the big wide brush of corruption.
Well said, Stageleft.
Its more than two individuals, Stageleft.
No, none of that is amusing, especially because secular teachers, social and childcare workers have diddled several orders of magnitude more children over the years than Catholic priests ever have, but get a pass from the hypocritical left, and too many Democrat Presidents have also been known to receive a pass from the left after screwing around on their wives, which by the way is not against the law until it is lied about under oath. Further, the abuses at Abu Ghraib were investigated as far up the chain as they are ever going to be, because Brigadier General Janis Leigh Karpinski who was in charge of the prison, and Captain Carolyn Wood who headed up Military Intelligence at Abu Ghraib and had an office just outside the cell-block where the abuses occurred, both happen to be women, who along with minorities usually receive a pass from the left. In the case of Abu Ghraib, the women and minorities directly involved outnumber the left’s preferred target for blame which is white guys, but since both groups have something of a protected status within the military, the relatively few US military personnel who are ever going to be charged with a crime, have already been investigated and penalized as they should have been.
While the left continually attempts to perform feats of acrobatic hypocrisy in order to target only those they consider to be on the right, they do not have the mental agility required to make their one-sided bullshit stick for very long, anywhere except in their own fantasy worldview that is.
It is known that Dale Rathke, who along with brother Wade founded ACORN, embezzled at least a million dollars from the group and affiliated charitable organizations, but ACORN executives decided to handle it as an internal matter, and did not inform law enforcement. Now, illegal activity has been found at the organization’s base, but despite mounting evidence of top to bottom corruption, ACORN is still not being properly investigated by law enforcement agencies, while its indiscretions go largely ignored by the lefty media, which allows it to receive billions in taxpayer funding. Therefore, ACORN remains under a cloud of suspicion precisely because it has received a pass from the left which has allowed it to avoid thorough investigation, but not to worry because that pass is being revoked by the right.
@Lee: Aye Lee, yer right, and it was more than a couple of Catholic priests, and more than a couple Republican Senators, and more than a couple of soldiers at abu Ghraib as well now wasn’t it?
My point stands, if it is OK to paint some organizations as corrupt based on the actions of some within them it should be OK to paint any organization as corrupt based upon the actions of any within them.
@Brian S (re: especially because secular teachers, social and childcare workers have diddled several orders of magnitude more children over the years than Catholic priests ever have): I’m sure you’ve got a source for that Brian S…. I wait with baited breath to review it.
And all of those diversionary examples you list were completely and utterly ignored by the media, right Stage?
@ward: Diversionary? Brian S was diversionary, I simply listed examples showing hypocritical behaviour. It happens all the time in partisan circles – but if it makes you any happier for me to say that the Canadian Liberals and American Democrats are at least as hypocritical in their behaviour as are Conservatives and the Republicans I’ll do so, and even cite ya a current example.
…… Republican guy heckles Obama and Libs/Dems get all up in arms about it but I really don’t seem to recall such an uproar from that quarter when an NDP MP from the west coast (you remember Svend Robinson don’t you?) heckled Reagan. Now of course if you bring this up with them you’ll get the standard hyper-partisan “but… but… but… it’s not the same thing at all……..” or they’ll try and switch channels, just like you and Brian S – it’s all part of partisan hypocrisy of the same nature I pointed out in my first comment.
And to answer your question, the examples I noted were covered in the media, just as is ACORN being covered by the media — did you think you were making a point?
PS: Jack, I’ve got a comment sitting in moderation in this thread.
What is really wearisome is this ‘yeah but yours is worse’ nonsense. Corruption is Corruption just as Evil is Evil. It matters not who performed the evil or engaged in corruption. What matters is that we as a society expend enough energy to expunge said evil/corruption from our midst.
Ah no Stage the media are not covering it, and by covering it I don’t mean paying a bit of minor lip service. We have seen what it is like when the media decides to put their full wieght behind an issue, and they are doing their best to ignore this - which is proving tough to do.
What they don’t have the internet there yet Stageleft? Why don’t you ever feel the need to prove any of the bullshit you constantly spew? Fortunately source links are easy to find because I’m not deflecting anything, just calling out your faulty left wing programming. Unfortunately Jack won’t let me post more than one link per comment.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_harassment_in_education
“In a national survey conducted for the American Association of University Women Educational Foundation in 2000 found that roughly 290,000 students experienced some sort of physical sexual abuse by a public school employee between 1991 and 2000. And a major 2004 study commissioned by the U.S. Department of Education found that nearly 10 percent of U.S. public school students reported having been targeted with sexual attention by school employees.”
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Catholic_sex_abuse_cases
“The John Jay report indicates that some 11,000 allegations had been made against 4,392 priests in the USA. This number constituted approximately 4% of the 110,000 priests who had served during the period covered by the survey (1950-2002).”
That works out to an average of 2,200 allegations of abuse made against priests in the US every decade, while at minimum 290,000 students experience some sort of physical sexual abuse in US secular schools every decade. That isn’t even counting the widespread allegations of such abuse in secular childcare centers. Further, similar reports out of Africa and South America indicate that millions of students are abused by their teachers in developing nations every year. Therefore, it is too easy to prove that more secular school teachers molest children every year than all the Catholic priests in history ever have.

@Brian S: Does that mean it is fair game to now cast doubt upon the entire teaching profession as a bunch of sexual deviants because of the actions of some of its’ members?
No, not at all Stageleft, you are the one going around denigrating people without a clue as to what the facts are, so, as I have stated, I am just correcting your faulty programming. Further, you have missed my point entirely, the hypocrisy does not often come from the crime, since all guilty priests, teachers, politicians, and military personnel, etc., are sinners capable of personal responsibility. The real hypocrisy in any of these situations comes from our reaction to their crimes, which all to often on the left is to give certain groups a pass, and then often complaining about the results that can bring, such as when giving some people a pass can cause the proper investigation of crimes like those that were committed at Abu Ghraib or ACORN to become difficult or impossible to conduct, which causes them to become suspect. For instance, after cheating on his estranged wife, Republican Governor Mark Sanford is not being given much of a pass by anyone on the right, so it is doubtful that he will be able to remain in politics without a fight, however, left wing politicians like Bill Clinton are often given pass after pass after pass following their indiscretions. That is how we end up with so many proven criminals and tax cheats advising a Democrat President in the White House, and occupying positions of power in a Democrat controlled Congress, despite their indiscretions. Notice that I stated “proven” criminals.
If you are going to talk about facts Brian S you need to get a few relatively simple concepts straight, possibly a good starting point would be “comparing like-to-like” – harassment and abuse are two different things, hopefully you can use that Internet thingie you mentioned to help you out with the difference.
To help you out I’ll try and get you started, in short it’s the concept where you cannot compare apples (abuse) to a shopping cart full of fruits and vegetables (harassment) that includes a bag of apples (abuse).
All your “facts” show is that some teachers abuse students – hold that thought, we’ll come back to it, ok?
The next thing you need to sort out is the difference between “a fact” and “your opinion“, or even “the opinions” of people you agree with – it may come as a surprise to you but they are actually two entirely different things.
It is “your opinion” that “the left” (whoever they may be this time around) gives “passes” to some people and organizations – you cite Clinton lying about the presidential blow job, “your opinion” is that he was given “a pass” because you are not satisfied by the outcome, but I remember the whole thing quite well, the media was on it like politically indigent on a hyper-partisan during an election campaign, seven days a week until the thing was over and done with.
I can point you to (quite literally) hundreds of Liberals and Dippers who think Harper has been given “a pass” by people like you and the media on his Income Trust flip-flop, his calling an election after passing fixed date legislation, his statements on Canada to an American think tank a few years back, and his offer to the GG to consider allowing him to form a coalition government with the Bloc and NDP back in 2004 when he was Opposition Leader – but (as I think we can agree) those are, as they currently stand, the opinions of hyper-partisans and not facts.
So where you are is that ACORN should be suspect because of the actions of some of their members but the teaching profession (see, I told you I’d come back to it) or the Catholic Church, should not, nor should any other group of people who you happen to like or agree or side with, like the GoP, the CPoC, Stephen Harper, the US military, etc, etc, etc.
Do you [just maybe] see some similarities between your behaviour and the behaviour of those you are complaining about?
PS: Don’t be a that upset if you can’t – the “but, but, but, why don’t you understand that it’s not the same thing…..” response is typical of the hyper-partisan of any political stripe.
PSS: Please do not go into any long drawn out explanation of why “it’s not the same thing“, it only hurts your arguments.
No Stageleft, you are the one that goes around stating your opinions as if they were fact while offering no proof whatsoever of their validity, not me. If I could not prove my statements, I would not have written them.
It is a fact, not my opinion, that secular teachers, coaches, social and childcare workers have diddled several orders of magnitude more children over the years than Catholic priests have, but get something of a pass from hypocritical lefties such as yourself when they spew their vile contempt for the clergy, because it does not back up the left’s assertion that religious people are evil in relation to the secular portion of the population. Sexual abuse of children is wrong, no matter who does it, or how far they go, so it is not about apples and oranges, but about providing context and clarification through comparative example. While the numbers of incidents of known sexual abuse within the US’ secular school system I have shown are more than enough to make my case, I threw in the statistics about sexual harassment of minors because it goes to show intent, as well as the scope of the serious problems within our secular school systems that are largely ignored by the left, while they focus primarily on crimes committed by Catholic priests, so as to further their agenda.
Where have I given Stephen Harper a pass? I have no problem at all stating that Stephen Harper has overly modified his stance on several issues where he has deemed that political or fiscal expediency warrants it. To me Stephen Harper is the lesser of possible evils, and many conservatives are also at least somewhat disappointed with his government. However, realizing that no matter how bad the Harper Conservatives are, the present crop of Liberals and Dippers would be much worse if they were to find themselves in power, is not being hypocritical in the least.
I did not state that ACORN should be suspect because of the actions of some of their members. I stated that ACORN was suspect because it keeps being given a pass and so has not been investigated properly, and therefore it cannot be known how deep the rot of corruption has penetrated it. There is bound to be some corruption in any organization that large, be it the military, ACORN, the post office, or whatever, but not properly investigating the crimes that you do know about, or giving certain groups of people within an organization a pass, can allow the entire organization to become suspect, if not rife with corruption.
For example, while I agree the story told by the two women who were in charge of the military and intelligence personnel at Abu Ghraib, Brigadier General Janis Leigh Karpinski and Captain Carolyn Wood, that they knew nothing at all of what was going on in their midst, by personnel under their direction, should be considered suspect, they were given a pass that the lefty media bought right into, and so the three separate investigations into the matter that have taken place since have all ended with them not being charged with a crime, but rather demoted and/or transferred, and therefore responsibility for the matter can never go any higher up the food chain, so a cloud of suspicion will remain no matter how many investigations occur. The left cannot have it both ways. It cannot give certain groups of people a pass, and then complain about it when the organization they work for hangs under a cloud of suspicion. Instead of giving it a pass, the left should let ACORN be thoroughly investigated whenever the possibility of criminal activity is uncovered, and thereby keep on top of the rot of any corruption, allowing those ACORN employees who only wish to better themselves and their neighborhoods, to work within the guidelines provided by law, and without the cloud of suspicion that currently hangs over them.
