"Aww Jeez!"

Obama “Stuff” (19)

Posted by Jack On September - 23 - 2009

obamarelaxed_thumbSince we can’t seem to get this man out of our faces no matter what we do it makes some sense to try to put it all in one place as I move along.  Readers can skim through it or ignore it,  as they wish.

1.  Obama’s malpractice on medical lawsuits

Since Mississippi passed lawsuit abuse reform in 2004, including caps on medical malpractice awards, the Magnolia State has seen the number of such claims decline 91 percent. The state’s largest medical malpractice insurer dropped its premiums by 42 percent, and it has offered an additional 20 percent rebate to doctors and hospitals of the premiums they pay each year.

2.  Fidel Castro praises Obama on climate change

HAVANA — Barack Obama’s call for action on climate change and his admission that rich nations have a particular responsibility to lead has received strong praise from an unusual source — U.S. nemesis Fidel Castro.

3.  Obama to world: Don’t expect America to fix it all

UNITED NATIONS – In a blunt challenge to his nation’s critics, President Barack Obama on Wednesday exhorted world leaders who once accused the United States of acting alone to now join with him in solving global crises rather than wait for America to do it on its own.

4.  Tough political realities quiet youth ‘Obamamania’

CHICAGO – Young Americans showed their collective power when they helped vote President Obama into office. Inspired by his message of “change,” they knocked on doors, spread flyers, voted for him by a 2-1 margin, and partied like rock-the-vote stars when he won.

5.  Lawmakers push for bill review period

A bipartisan group of House lawmakers on Wednesday announced an effort that would force Democratic leaders to give members of Congress — and the public — 72 hours to review legislation before a bill is brought to the floor for a vote.

6.  Obama: U.S. Does Not Recognize ‘Legitimacy of Continued Israeli Settlements’

In declaring that it is time for Middle East peace “without preconditions,” President Obama used his speech to the U.N. General Assembly Wednesday to fire a warning at Israel that “America does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements.”

7.  Obama’s Speeches– The President Mentions Self Nearly 1,200 Times!

Obama loves to hear himself talk – about himself. In just 41 speeches so this year, not including this week’s big speech at the United Nations, Obama has talked about himself nearly 1,200 times – 1,198 to be exact. (That breaks down to 1,121 “I”s and just 77 “me”s.)

8.  Powerful Lawmakers Press Desire for Gen. McChrystal to Testify on Afghan Strategy

An array of powerful legislators from both parties want Gen. Stanley McChrystal to testify about the challenges confronting the U.S. and its allies in Afghanistan and his plan for beating back the resurgent Taliban — as the Pentagon pushes back.

9.  Reid Threatens ‘Nuclear Option’

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid threatened on Tuesday to use a procedural maneuver to steamroll opponents of health care reform, even as a Senate panel began delicate negotiations over a package that could have the best chance at passing.

10.  Obama Will Spend More on Welfare in the Next Year Than Bush Spent on Entire Iraq War, Study Reveals

(CNSNews.com) – As a candidate for president, Barack Obama decried the financial toll that the Iraq war was taking on the economy, but Obama’s proposed spending on welfare through 2010 will eclipse Bush’s war spending by more than $260 billion.

11.  The UN loves Barack Obama because he is weak

Barack Obama’s Gallup approval rating of 52 percent may well be lower at this stage of his presidency than any US leader in recent times with the exception of Bill Clinton. But he is still worshipped with messiah-like adoration at the United Nations, and is considerably more popular with many of the 192 members of the UN than he is with the American people.

12.  Doubts about Obama continue to grow

The new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll asked respondents whether they would prefer to see next year’s elections result in a Congress controlled by Democrats or a Congress controlled by Republicans. The result: 48 percent say they would prefer Democrats in control, and 45 percent say Republicans. That three-point Democratic lead is down from seven points lead in July and nine points in April.

13.  Barack Obama, College Administrator

If you are confused by the first nine months of the Obama administration, take solace that there is at least a pattern. The president, you see, thinks America is a university and that he is our campus president. Keep that in mind, and almost everything else makes sense.

14.  Obama and the Politics of Concession

During last year’s campaign, Sen. Joe Biden famously remarked that, if his ticket won, it wouldn’t be long before “the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy” on foreign affairs. Last week, President Obama, brilliantly wielding the powers of his office, managed to fail that test not just once but twice, buckling in the face of Russian pressure and taking a giant wooden nickel from Iran.

15.  Worst foreign policy ever

Tomorrow, President Obama will chair a special nuclear-disarmament meeting by the United Nations Security Council. The White House bills this as a historic first, but it is typical of Mr. Obama’s emphasis on style over substance. He will appear before the body with the weakest foreign-policy record of any new U.S. president in recent memory. An around-the-world tour of international hot spots shows that for all the president’s lofty rhetoric, he can point to precious few accomplishments.

16.  Palin Addresses Asian Investors

HONG KONG — Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, in what was billed as her first public-speaking engagement outside North America, blamed the world financial crisis on government excesses and called for a new round of deregulation and tax cuts for U.S. businesses.

17.  Upper chamber bristles at criticism from abroad on climate change pace

Senators from both parties bristled Tuesday at international pressure to pass climate change legislation ahead of the United Nations’ (U.N.) December summit on global warming.

18.  “Ah Jeez”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi intends to present a unified, redrafted health care reform bill next week, the head of the House Democratic Caucus said Wednesday.

Notes:

At this rate the US will be in deep kak forever.  I figure about 100 years to sort out the problems.

Speaking of the young O-bots, they are sitting on their hands and not coming to the defense or rescue of “The Obama”.  It appears that the young, darlings  have the  attention span of an gnat.  The poor, misguided fools –  no one told them that a revolution takes time and sacrifice.    The careless variegation of youth – instant everything and if its not instant, back to partying  and computer games.  I hope they remember to feed me when I am in the nursing home.  Cheers.

Since I am on full rant mode this morning  (not enough coffee yet to mellow out)  the saying “an inch deep but a mile wide” could also apply to Obama’s list.  Can I call him ambitious but shallow?  Unfortunately you can drown in an inch of water.  Cheers.
