UNITED NATIONS (CNN) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took aim Thursday at President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the “terrorist” Iranian regime, deploring Ahmadinejad’s “anti-Semitic rants” and his repeated claims that the “Holocaust is a lie.”
Speaking at the U.N. General Assembly’s annual debate, Netanyahu denounced the Iranian leader’s remarks to the assembly Wednesday evening.
He said Ahmadinejad’s comments were a disgraceful “mockery of the charter of the United Nations.” He said people who listened to Ahmadinejad gave “legitimacy to a man who denies the murder of 6 million Jews, while promising to wipe out the state of israel, the state of the Jews.”
“Yesterday, the man who calls the Holocaust a lie spoke from this podium. To those who refused to come and to those who left in protest, I commend you. You stood up for moral clarity, and you brought honor to your countries.
“But to those who gave this Holocaust denier a hearing, I say on behalf of my people, the Jewish people, and decent people everywhere, have you no shame? Have you no decency?”

Since the election of Barack Hussein Obama Israel cannot be feel very alone in the world and vulnerable to her enemies. If only she can survive until 2012.
In light of Obama’s disclosure about a second nuke site in Iran today one should be wary of Israel’s response. Also think about 40,000 more troops in Afghanistan and a war on two fronts in Iran. More to the point consider how long Iran’s troops would survive if the US goes after them.
My view — less time than Saddam’s troops did.
I will say this in all honesty. Obama is young and very impatient. He wants everything done yesterday and my belief is that “Binjie” has no idea what he is screwing around with.
Neither has anyone else.
@Jack: I think you’re wrong about a short military engagement with Iran. Unlike Iraq or Afghanistan Iran has a well funded military that includes, for example, an actual air force as opposed to a few planes buried in the sand, a real navy, and one of the largest missile inventories in the region.
Iran is not only more that the US can bite off, let alone chew, at this point but it is an engagement that the American people are not likely to have any appetite for unless it does considerably more than simply allow Ahmadinejad to spout his bigoted historical revisionism.
You are both wrong.
Netenyahu knows exactly what hes “screwing around with”. Obama doesnt have to do anything, Israel will take care of Iran (the nukes anyway).
