Ignatieff lacks vaccine

martin_donLiberal leader Michael Ignatieff appears to have a problem with at least one police officer.

An RCMP officer in a cruiser on Parliament Hill flagged me down around midnight Monday, no doubt figuring any journalist out this late on a school night was up to no good.

After explaining my late departure was to write up the four federal byelections, he asked who’d won.

The Conservatives took two of the ridings to claim the big win of the night, I said.

“That’s good, isn’t it?,” he suggested. Well, the Bloc Quebecois and  Liberals might think differently.  ”Tell you this much. I’ve been a Liberal all my life and next time, for a whole bunch of reasons, I’m voting Harper.”

That’s the Iggy nightmare.  True Grits are turning Tory.  And there doesn’t appear to be a vaccine to prevent it from going pandemic.

I get a laugh out of Don…he’s like a ping pong ball.  He just bounces around day to day and you never know what he’s going to do next.  The last couple of columns he’s been picking on Iggy and I have to say this.

There is nothing worse than a true believer columnist who has lost his (or her) faith.

    They get really nasty.

I can’t get too excited about Canadian politics lately. With the Liberal Party still on their pathetic downhill slide it would probably even get harder to hate them if it were not for all the other liberals out there taking up the slack. Can anyone even remember the last time the Liberals had a good policy idea of their own?
