CHICAGO — Sarah Palin said she thinks the Republican ticket lost the 2008 presidential election because Americans were looking for change, and not because she undermined the campaign or was unprepared for the vice presidential seat.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey that aired Monday, Palin said the economy tanked under a Republican administration and people wanted to try a different path.
“They were quite concerned about the road that America was on with our economy. They did not want more of the same. They did not want status quo. And I think, unfortunately, our ticket represented what was perceived as status quo,” she said.
“I don’t think I could be blamed for losing the race any more than I could be credited with winning the race had I done a better job as a candidate,” Palin added.
Appearing on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” a day before the release of her 413-page book, “Going Rogue: An American Life,” Palin said she knew she didn’t have a good interview with CBS’ Katie Couric, but thought that Couric was interested in a partisan agenda.
Palin said in hindsight, she wishes she had given some exact examples when Couric asked her which newspapers she reads.
“I was already so annoyed and it was unprofessional for me to wear my annoyance on my sleeve,” Palin said, noting that she perceived Couric’s question as suggesting that Alaskans are Neanderthal and uneducated.

Notes:
Sarah is everywhere these days. So much so I am not even attempting to keep up with her even though I support her. From all I have gathered she is doing a real number on the people that have spent so much time and hard work putting her down.
Would she make a good president?
“You betcha” providing she has great backup and it just so happens she may well have.
How about a “ladies ticket” in 2012? What do you make of that?

Who would be the #2? I think J.C. Watt would be better as #2.
Re: #1 — Disagree (never heard of Watt). Michele is exactly like Sarah…beautiful, smart and on a tear. Many have suggested that you can’t be pretty, female and “smart” all at the same time.
Bullshit.
Our women are very smart.
Native peoples have known this truth for “what?”
Eons?
Obama is a one term president and the “ladies” will beat him into the ground. I truly believe that and I support them. Truth be told I have never seen a bigger screwup on the part of Americans in my entire life…all caused by males.
It’s time to wake up and here’s my point.
NOBODY could do worse than Obama is doing this very minute. He’s an idiot depending on other idiots to make his case.
2010 first…2012 next.
It’s a happening thing and Sarah knows that as do our natives who have been following women for thousands of years.
Pick up and pay attention.
great interview at Rush Limbaugh with Sarah Palin
grown up questions and dynamite answers

Never seen a mess like this. A president who is a fool and knows nothing backed up by the extreme left. My view — it will be a very long time before a Democrat is ever elected again. Just like Canada and Liberals.
You can take it to the bank.
Call Democrats “Helter Skelter” as they pursue nutty dreams. Manson didn’t write the music — Democrats did and today one pundit “somewhere” described them as “frantic”.
Indeed they are.
Think about it.
I have two daughters and both I a had short, sharp talk with as they reached thier teenage years. Your bodies are your own. They are yours and you can do with them as you want.
Be careful and treat them with respect. If you feel you are going to be sexuallly active go to the doctor and get on the pill. I want no little kids here and you have your careers which come first.
Both girls heard me and no problem arose because they realized a new baby is a life altering event and can change their entire lives.
It’s not rocket sience.
The message is not to be disregarded because it’s true.
J.C. Watt …. Retired Rep – Oklalahoma, Oil company president , Quarterback Ottawa Roughriders/Okalahoma Top level candidate, happens to be a black success story from the south.
You know what, Jack? I’m about to have that short, sharp talk with my daughter. We’ve had a few chats around the subject and I know her mother has already given her a pep talk or two… but she’s Daddy’s girl and I owe her that speech.
AP has assigned 11 reporters to fact check Sarah’s book. How many did they assign to check out O’s autobiography, or to fact check the algore movie, or Moores.
Why are they so afraid of one woman. I thought a lot of it, during the election, is they all thought it would be Hillory, and another woman would not be tolerated.
The media has to get over their wrong conclusions that only smart women have to be democrats or only black men must be democrat.
Palin may turn out to be the best thing the Democrats have going for them.
Re: #7 — Every parent should do that with their kids when they hit puberty, Mac. As you say — you owe it to them and if you’re frank and honest with them they will respond in kind.
That doesn’t mean they will make good decisions down the road regarding boyfriends/girlfriends. What it does mean is that they will be able to recover from bad choices because unexpected babies will have been eliminated from the loop. Both of mine have by the way (bad choices) and are doing fine now.
No one wants to take the blame … and no one wants to step up either. That’s why the GOP is in the shape it’s in.
Re: #11 — Actually (from my point of view) the GOP is doing just fine. Another year of major screwups by democrats should tell the tale.
Unfortunately, Jack, partisans of all stripes don’t seem to realize that in the long run they can no longer get by on waiting for the other side to screw up. The GOP and conservatives in general better come up with a better platform than “I hate Obama”, otherwise the people will ignore both parties in favour of a third party or better yet non-political action.
Good point Cynapse as Iffy has been waiting for the PM to ‘screw up’ while his party is crumbling under his liberal feet.
Mind you, the Grits are really ticked off at the Tory’s recent flyer accusing them of being anti-semitic. Sounds a bit ‘childish’ of the Tories by me.

#10- The speech went well. She finds me easier to talk to than Mrs. Mac. No need for anything yet but now she knows I’m there for her.
