Re Canadians support online voting: A darned good idea, and one that needs to be expanded upon to allow Canadians to vote on all major pieces of legislation….. it would certainly beat the h*ll out of being told by the party “what Canadians want” or think.
Not that any of the parties are actually interested in that sort of thing……
Pingback: Stageleft: life on the left side » Canadians Support Online Voting: Poll
What a novel idea. Letting Canadians vote on issues that affect their lives. No wonder politicians dont want it as ‘they know whats best for us.’
Had this been in place, ‘the Harper Sales Tax’ would not have been passed.
The HST can still be repealed, despite the built-in legal loophole that ensures it’s in effect even if the Ontario gov’t changes hands. At Tim Hudak’s website.
I wish Hudak would come out and cleary say what he would do with the McGuinty/Harper ‘Hated Sales Tax’ should he come to power.
Apparently it stays in place through McGuinty’s present legislation, no matter the party voted in. The legislation must be examined by the public because it’s clearly taxation without representation targeteed to seed failing businesses’ infrastructure, re-equipment needs and salaries. In other words, any new hirings out there pay for their own paycheques, depressed at 30 year levels, while interest rates are poised to rise in combination with inflation. The ten year cycle is right on schedule.
The banks now are doubling and even tripling ATM service charges. It’s outta control. The train’s left the station already. As many websites are pointing the needed finger, follow the money to the sinkholes. Are we prepared to look at it squarely?? We should be as voting citizens.
But the fact of the matter is, the approx. 130 citizens that run the affairs of men have given sovereign leaders their marching orders from which they can’t diverge one iota else they risk their own immediate families and paycheques.
