If Manitoba had wilderness camps for criminal youth — something the provincial Tories called for at their November annual general meeting — 47-year-old Zdzislaw Andrzejczak would likely be alive today.
Andrzejczak was minding his own business last week en route to get a cup of coffee when, out of nowhere, a repeat dangerous offender driving a stolen Hummer SUV — who obviously has no regard for human life — slammed into his car, killing him.
The 18-year-old alleged driver was a Level 4 car thief — which means he has repeatedly stolen vehicles and was on probation for past convictions at the time of last week’s killing.
Public at risk
We had him in custody, over and over again, for at least two years. Yet instead of keeping him in custody and holding him for a lengthy period of time — mostly to protect society but also to get him away from whatever negative influences were poisoning his mind — the system continued to put the public at great risk by releasing him.
A man lost his life for that catastrophic error and a family has been crushed. As a society, we screwed up big time.

“Actually”, they are not Tom. Judges are beginning to get the message.
Or maybe NOT …
“Judges are skilled at devising creative ways to fight back against laws they believe may skew the system”

‘Judges’ don’t mind at all if you kill someone with a vehicle, so no changes are coming…..
I wonder what the charges would be if a member of Mr. Andrzejczak’s family put a 30-06 bullet through the chest of this little piece of murdering garbage?
