Health is just like our “name the enemy” discussion.

It is hard to fix Health Care if they won’t focus on the problems. Here are some of them and if they were tackled there would probably be bi-partisan support and some Americans would be a lot better off and fewer harmed by excessive intervention of ObamaCare.

1. Get insurance coverage for the 30? Million not covered. Maybe put them in Medicare
2. Make health portable to something when you loose or switch jobs.
3. Get rid of the cross state Health portability impediments.
4. Deal with tort.

Unfortunately the backlash is deserved -
1) Obama bill went too far in trying to take over the delivery and prioritization of health care services. It would have been much easier and less scary to the freedom nuts if he simply pledged to be an insurer of last resort or drew up a bill forcing the states to do such
2) The bill was force-fed through congress, giving members not nearly enough time to read its contents
3) Obama's made-for-TV rationales were poor. He was trying to sell his endorsement rather than the principles of the bill
4) Govt should have realized that public opposition was strong enough to at least consider making modifications. Instead, mods were only made to buy off certain senators, showing a mild contempt for their population.

All of this plays into Republican hands to do what they do best - divide the population and declare war on the less fortunate - with full (scared) middle class endorsement.

I got this in an email today...

My cat sleeps about 20 hours a day. He has his food prepared for him. He can eat whenever he wants, 24/7/365. His meals are provided at no cost to him. He visits the Dr. once a year for his checkup, and again during the year if any medical needs arise. For this he pays nothing, and nothing is required of him. He lives in a nice neighborhood in a house that is much larger than he needs, but he is not required to do any upkeep. If he makes a mess, someone else cleans it up. He has his choice of luxurious places to sleep. He receives these accommodations absolutely free. He is living like a king, and has absolutely no expenses whatsoever. All of his costs are picked up by others who go out and earn a living every day.

I was just thinking about all this, and suddenly it hit me like a brick in the head : My cat is a Democrat!
