IPCC meltdown

The Himalayan glaciers will still be around in 2035, contrary to oft-repeated alarmist claims by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Whether the IPCC’s head, Rajendra Pachauri, whose credibility is melting faster than the proverbial snowball in Hades, will make it to his next paycheque is another matter.

With Climategate still simmering and the collapse of Copenhagen reverberating, a fresh storm has blown up over the discovery that the IPCC’s claim that Himalayan glaciers were about to disappear is entirely bogus.

“If the present rate [of melting] continues,” said the IPCC’s Fourth Assessment Report in 2007, “the likelihood of them disappearing by the year 2035 and perhaps sooner is very high.”

There was no significant questioning of this claim until late last year, when the Indian government published a discussion paper that pointed out that there was in fact no sign of any “abnormal” retreat in the Himalayan glaciers. India’s environment minister Jairam Ramesh accused the IPCC of being “alarmist.”

Doing what he has traditionally done in such circumstances, Mr. Pachauri proceeded to smear the messengers and pontificate about the IPCC’s high “peer-reviewed” scientific standards. He denounced the research paper as “voodoo science.” He accused Minister Ramesh of “arrogance.” He said that such skeptical claims were reminiscent of “climate change deniers.”

However, Dr. Pachauri’s nemesis turned out to be a Canadian, Professor Graham Cogley of Trent University, who is himself an IPCC author and no skeptic. Professor Cogley says he was unaware of the IPCC’s Himalayan projection until he came across it last year. He immediately realized that the 2035 date was wildly improbable and set about tracking down its origins.

Even heard it on the radio on a news broadcast this morning so the MSM may be waking up finally and even some ” true believers ” in the media are getting ” an uncomfortable feeling ” that they have been conned into becoming cheerleaders for Global Warming AKA Climate Change when the climate isn’t being cooperative !
So cracks are showing in the solid front of MSM certainty i.e. Settled Science not so settled after all …. LOL. If more cracks show up the dam will eventually burst: I give it a year or two MAX !

There may be some very ” natural ” climate changes that maybe we should be preparing for instead of futilely trying to stop like a possible Ice Age: Adapt or die !

Hmmmmm: Seems like it’s not being ignored like ” Climate Gate ” by the media or at least some of it ! Anything on CBC ? I haven’t checked and I very rarely watch CBC these days.

The fact that India’s spoken up with rationality has made the difference and now IPCC exposure will happen at a dizzying pace.  Good on India, a legitimate power to be reckoned with and we’re trading with her now, thanks to the PM’s diplomatic/negotiating skills.  India’s the welcome ’800 lb guerilla in the room.’

“Adapt or die!”? OK. I just finished pushing my lawn mower around the grass over the septic field, on the north (shady) side of the house. So I’ve already started adapting to this season. Next is pruning, the buds are coming out.

So there’s my proof of the published “true and alarming report” a couple of months ago that the Arctic ice is melting because some fellow pushed his boat over some ice and dug some holes.

So, how’s your climate change going?

Adapt or die has been the basis of survival in nature since the beginning of time and life on Earth
In some extreme cases there is nothing to do but die i.e. if the Sun goes Nova we are all cooked and there is nothing we can do smart or stupid to survive.

Blatant fraud, how is it that these people are still employed? Canadians are forced to send money to the UN through taxation by our government – that should stop.
