Obama made a lot of promises

Voters in Massachusetts cast their votes yesterday amid freezing temperatures and falling snow. They provided a window to America’s sour mood, even in this traditional Democratic stronghold.

“I think the country is a mess,” Kathelyn Neas, a stay-at-home mother, said at a polling station at South Boston Library.

Seamus Kelley, a state employee, voted for the Democratic candidate but said: “I think there are a lot of people who, because of this economy, are not happy with any incumbents. In the last two elections it was Iraq and Afghanistan and people took their ire out on President Bush. Now it’s the Democrats.”

Voters spoke of disappointment that President Obama had not made good on his soaring rhetoric. Pat Tobin, a saleswoman who voted Republican yesterday, said: “When people say ‘change’ there should be something behind it. Obama made a lot of promises of ‘change’ but I don’t think it meant anything.”

Obama made a lot of promises and Bush made a lot of mistakes, which unfortunately took a lot of lives (Iraq).

The reality check occurred and took root when Obama admitted the country’s ‘at war.’  Bi-partisan agreement/consensus occurred at that point.  Negotiations take effect from a strengthened position.  That would apply to the internal war on the economy as well as to identified enemies without the state.

It was edifying to hear Gordon Sinclair on yesterday’s link where America bashing was absent.  His words directly apply to today’s situation.  Unfortunately, the U.S.A doesn’t get time-out as it’s still considered the world’s lone policeman.  That’s got to change for its very survival.  It’s all about self-defence now, even literally.  It’s always been about that.  Human history acknowledges we’re about wars about 90 percent of the time.  That’s the reality and it’s to be dealt with as a continuum.

Obama, the orator, is clearly in over his head and has been since he took office. Unfortunately for the Democrats their belief in this man has led them to the mess their now in. The election last night is the beginning of a turn-around.

I believe Bush has just been appointed by Obama to oversee Haiti’s reconstruction.  Nation building continues in maybe unexpected, but strategic locations.  Iraq’s oil to date is needed on world markets in combination with ‘drill baby drill’ on the domestic scene.

Sarah Palin, next POTUS in 2012.  Why, it’s almost guaranteed.  CNN’s helping her out.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe just maybe he isn’t willing to get down and wallow in the swill with the hogs?  Incidently, Bush Derangement Syndrome (“the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidency — nay — the very existence of George W. Bush”) is a disease of the left, and the treatment of which may very well be covered under the provisions of the Canada Health Act.    You might want to check it out with your doctor UV.

Not even all of the leftists enjoy the ‘bush derangement symptom’ btdt. hahaha.  I remember just after the failed terror attempts at the LA airport, some leftists even said they’d miss the bush admin.

Compare that to the Christmas Day failed Detroit bomber and Obama taking up to 48-72 hours to respond on his way back from his Hawaian vacation.  Response time is everything as we know and the lunatics just have to get it right once.  Yemen’s been put on notice, obviously for a reason, even if it interferes with trade/finance.  So, that’s saying a lot.

A nn Coulter advised that these body scanners can’t pick up on explosives in body orifices so what good are they??

You’re right dora, sometimes being a suicide bomber can be a real ‘bummer’.  The full body scanners aren’t utilized by El Al Airlines (and we all know their safety record) and if anybody thought they were a useful tool to combat terrorism they surely would.  Completely eliminating political correctness would be much more effective and cost (excluding hurt feelings) a heck of a lot less.  Alas, the west is going to have to suffer a horrendous loss before we are able to summon up the courage to do what must be done but even then protecting people’s momentary emotional well being might still trump preseving their lives.

Been – ‘Bush, (a disease of the right)  doesnt want to get down and wallow in the swill.’  I guess not since he created it and then passed it on to the next guy who has to clean it up.

No one individual either in the past or present is responsible for the present economy, security issues.  I think that’s a given.  The present dilemnas are the products of decades of misdirected policies and that goes way back, accumulations of many international gov’ts and interrelations.

An imperfect storm has played out and picking up the pieces is a ‘catch 22.’  America’s been here before, including all Western entities and we’ll be here again.  Only this time economic forecasts are pointing to a decade long if not more of the same.  That’s unsustainable when it took roughly only two years in the dirty thirties to turnaround.  Then as now, a necessary war will kick start the economy.  Unless of course, suicide bombing events are figments of all our collective imaginations.  They’re not.

And we can harp about and blame it on a few individuals, but the fact of the matter is that it’s attributable to an insane ideology adopted by a significant segment of populations that perpetrate these acts.

The fact that another 9/11 hasn’t occurred to date is a real score for our side.  The successes have accumulated on mission after mission, but it is at a cost.  The main costs being human lives followed by dollars that could be diverted to needed agricultural degrades which are and will affect future generations.
