12 children now orphans because their Mom and Dad weren’t wearing seatbelts.

When I read that is the paper this morning I said right out loud those *&%#* stupid fools!!!!!  I know I know, don’t speak ill of the dead but the odds are overwhelmingly in favour of survival of horrific crashes if only people would buckle up.  Today’s motor vehicle passenger compartments are engineered to provide incredible protection to the occupants but they have to be restrained in the vehicle at the time of  impact.  12 orphans that in all probability needn’t be,  all because of stupidity.  Even if one of the parents had survived! Me, Jack and others here have had to pull enough dead bodies out of vehicles and with but a very few exceptions the vast majority didn’t have to die, if only they’d worn their seatbelts.   Now don’t get me going on parents who don’t buckle their children in and then get into a collision and the children get killed, that’d be too many bad memories for the one day.

A terrible tragedy, BTDT.  Both parents killed.  Hard to take.  A recent book has come to my attention.  It may help many.  “Shaken, not Shattered.”
