Climate scientists withdraw claims of rising sea levels (3)

Scientists have been forced to withdraw a study on projected sea level rise due to global warming after finding mistakes that undermined the findings.

The study, published in 2009 in Nature Geoscience, one of the top journals in its field, confirmed the conclusions of the 2007 report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). It used data over the last 22,000 years to predict that sea level would rise by between 7cm and 82cm by the end of the century.

At the time, Mark Siddall, from the Earth Sciences Department at the University of Bristol, said the study “strengthens the confidence with which one may interpret the IPCC results“. The IPCC said that sea level would probably rise by 18cm-59cm by 2100, though stressed this was based on incomplete information about ice sheet melting and that the true rise could be higher.

Many scientists criticised the IPCC approach as too conservative, and several papers since have suggested that sea level could rise more. Martin Vermeer of the Helsinki University of Technology, Finland and Stefan Rahmstorf of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany published a study in December that projected a rise of 0.75m to 1.9m by 2100.

Siddall said that he did not know whether the retracted paper’s estimate of sea level rise was an overestimate or an underestimate.

Say what! The seas are not going to rise? No s**t Sherlock. Ya bunch of dummies, it took you long enough to figure that out. Heck, even Al Gore knew that.

WHEW!! I can sleep better now that some backwater of the planet isn’t in danger of being submerged.

Did these clowns not figuer that if it was really happening that those impacted by this event, wouldn’t move?

“No, send money, we’re gonna fight this. Blame George Bush.”

Isn’t Liz May building a house – on Salt Spring Island? Don’t people think that if the climate screamers are living in close proximity to sea level, they could too? Oh, I forgot “Canadians are stupid.”

Wasn’t this the biggest threat or disaster predicted and the main reason to spend trillions trying to save the low lying regions of the World ? ” Low lying ” or maybe just plain lying …… LOL.

OOOOOPS, fictional quote : ” Our whole Global Warming thing was just a bad ” B ” movie script that got mistaken for peer reviewed research ” ( Can’t resist bad jokes or bad puns, sarcasm set on high …. LOL ).

Frankly, they aren’t “scientists” by any stretch of the imagination, either.

The first article is by an engineer, who puts engineers to shame on the fraud (his words, not mine) that AGW is.

The second is a favourite, because I are a gerologist and it’s right up my alley.

So what part of global warming hasn’t been proved to be either made up, “groomed” or worse? Tell me again why governments are still chasing the “green” economy?

Re #7: Maybe because the Canadian MSM is underplaying and underreporting Climategate and related stories and the general public still thinks that it’s settled science ! Quebec is even worse in hiding the story: Controversy, what controversy !

Until they acknowledge it, it just isn’t true …. LOL. ( True coolaid drinkers )

At some point the Canadian MSM will be isolated and overwhelmed when at the international level the whole thing comes crashing down and they remain alone in still pushing the Global Warming narrative as being settled science: Just a matter of time, lets just hope it happens sooner than later.
