President Obama is readying to unleash a variety of executive powers to circumvent Congress and push his agenda. White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel said that a review of mechanisms was under way to “get the job done across a front of issues.” The president claims he has to resort to extraordinary methods because of partisan gridlock, but he has learned the wrong lessons from his failed freshman year in office. Mr. Obama’s initiatives haven’t stalled because of partisanship but because they are transparently bad for America.
It’s odd that the president and his apologists blame partisanship for his legislative problems. Mr. Obama came into office with a filibuster-proof Democratic Senate majority, the largest since the Jimmy Carter era, and the most Democratic House members since the early 1990s. Those comfortable majorities should have meant smooth sailing for Mr. Obama’s legislative agenda, and some of his early initiatives, such as the so-called stimulus package, passed fairly easily. Republicans were shunted aside unceremoniously and could not stop the liberal juggernaut.
The reason Mr. Obama began to run into problems had less to do with partisanship than with public opposition to his ideological agenda.

Obama is not only the most ideological POTUS in history, he is by far the most dangerous.
I don’t think that the TOTUS is ideologically driven if only because that would require of him an idea. In fact Owebambam is a puppet and as such both useless and dangerous. His backroom boys tell him what to say or do and so he does it without philosophical underpinnings. In his gut he leans left but without his handlers he would spend all day staring at a mirror preening rather than make policy or set direction. I’m waiting for the Bob Rae effect to kick in where no one will admit to voting for him.
Obama is “kissy face, pressy belly” and is a loser.

Sock puppet President makes empty suit President sound good in contrast, and I agree that he probably has very few core principles but does lean left more or less but might turn right ” on a dime ” if it guarantied his re-election.
I could be proven wrong but it would take a lot at this point to convince me that he has any direction and even more important an idea on how to take the country in the direction he envisions. ( Assuming he has any real vision(s) ).
I think the ” i ” word is going to start being used seriously as in ” IMPEACHMENT ” !
Is it a realistic possibility ? I really don’t know ?
It would be one thing if the use of the executive power was going in the same direction as the public will or opinion, but even if legal and constitutional some things don’t fly if the population is overwhelmingly against the proposed executive orders !
Lasts year’s Coalition attempts was technically legal but, at least at the time, not supported by public sentiment: Politics is more than just the strict adherence to the rules it’s also very much the mood of the public and a perception that the rules are being used fairly and for good reasons.
Obama is a snakeoil salesman who sold “CHANGE” to a bunch of shrill liberals who didn’t bother to ask for details.
Buyer beware. They are getting what they deserve.
Re: #6 — November 2010 and “the one” will be gone. American made a mistake but they will soon correct it as all “lefties” disappear. It’s a happening thing.

Re: #8 – You could be right and Obama might end up with a ” Super Minority ” as opposed to the very temporary ” Super Majority ” …… Impeachement becomes more a possibility without a friendly Congreess and Senate !
Can just incompetence or ” Lack of Confidence ” be used as the reason for impeachement ? It could in our system with a minority Government. ( Although it would just involve voting the Government out in a non confidence vote and would be political rather than judicial I think ).
Maybe some digging into ” Chicago ” politics will furnish another credible pretext or some constitutional misuse or abuse of power ?
