    Re: RCMP to start packing cameras - That’s funny, I don’t have enough fingers and toes to count the number of times police have asked me why I’m taking pictures of them, what I’m going to do with them, “can I look at your camera?“, and attempted to discourage me from taking pictures of them…. and now they’re gonna be walking around with little video cameras clipped to their shirt/jacket/vest taking roving images of the average citizen.

    $850 isn’t actually that bad for something like that – maybe I’ll consider getting one and wearing it to the demos so they don’t know they’re being filmed either.

    It’s all about those new Samsung cameras. You can take the pictures/videos and automatically upload to Facebook/Youtube. They can smash your camera all they want after that.

    Most cellphones (Blackberry for sure) have the same capability. Pictures and videos can be both timestamped and geo-tagged, allowing every civilian to be a walking journalism team.
