TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts said Tuesday the scene at President Barack Obama’s first State of the Union address was “very troubling” and that the annual speech to Congress has “degenerated into a political pep rally.”
Responding to a University of Alabama law student’s question about the Senate’s method of confirming justices, Roberts said senators improperly try to make political points by asking questions they know nominees can’t answer because of judicial ethics rules.
“I think the process is broken down,” he said.
Obama chided the court for its campaign finance decision during the January address, with six of the court’s nine justices seated before him in their black robes.
Roberts said he wonders whether justices should attend the address.

New sidebar video: I think Roberts is correct and should order his fellow judges NOT to attend a purely political event in future. More to the point I feel Canadian Justices should also excuse themselves in our parliament when their presence is required.
The reason?
“Neutrality”.
There is no doubt in my mind that Roberts thought long and hard about this before he tied into Obama. And he’s correct. Obama rule is a rule of accidents and in no way should our courts be drawn into current political problems — anywhere.
Soon the Supreme Court will be replaced by Government Apparatchiks that will toe the Party line. As amazing as it is, I really do think that I’m watching the Empty Suit impliment a Marxist-Lenninist agenda in the USA. Remarkable stuff. The worst part is that the goo will get all over Canada too.

Robert Gibbs says “the President is very concerned about the influence special interests have over government”. LOL. If these clowns expect the vast majority to believe that then they really do think that Americans are stupid. Obama and his condescending mouthpiece Gibbs view the American public as mindless drones whose only functions are to work and pay taxes.
