Re: U.S. wants Canada to stay in Afghanistan: Clinton I’m sure that this is going to come as a surprise to a whole bunch of people here, but IMO Canada should stay in Afghanistan. Both as a reconstruction force and as a military force.
Part of the reason that Afghanistan was such fertile ground for breeding terrorists was the United States pulling out after Russia left, it was a bombed out poverty stricken country destroyed by outsiders and then left to fend for itself — wtf did they expect was gonna happen under those conditions?
Make no mistake, if the west leaves now the same thing will happen again – for better or for worse we have to stay there (although IMO under revised rules) until the place is stable.
