When Sarah Palin, in a rambling lakeside announcement last July in Wasilla, said she was quitting as governor of Alaska because of the abuse she and her family were taking from petty politicians and a feral press, she was written off as dead by the pundits.
“A quitter, can’t take the heat,” was the Beltway consensus.
Yet, it seems that was no more the end of Sarah than it was the end of Richard Nixon when, after losing to Gov. Pat Brown in California in 1962, he spat at the press: “Just think how much you’re going to be missing. You won’t have Nixon to kick around anymore because, gentlemen, this is my last press conference.”
Six years later, Nixon took the oath on the Capitol steps.
And though the media have painted Palin as a ditz, no politician in memory has conducted a more brilliant pre-presidential campaign, if that is what she is about, than the lady who calls herself “the Mama Grizzly.”

“Back on topic”. I usually don’t follow Pat much but today I thought he wrote a very kind column and hit all the high spots in Sarah’s War. I agree with him and it’s small wonder the left in the US is going nuts.

And it starts now with ten bucks here and ten bucks there just like Conservatives are doing in Canada. Pretty soon she’ll have a war chest of a trillion dollars and Obama is escorted out the back door as she is everywhere and he is nowhere.
You see — he’s beating up on all his “mega donors” and they don’t like him anymore. His war chest will shrink as Sarah’s expands and what is not to like about that idea?

The left’s obsession with Palin and her physical appearance is bordering on stalking. The woman is much more than “big hair and high heels”. Brains and beauty – devastating combination on so many levels. Dismiss her at your ideological peril. Cheers.
The left and the media can continue to throw all sorts of garbage at Palin but what they do not seem to realize is that it just feeds her competetive instincts – it makes her stronger.
They threw everything at her and more, so now all that subsequent attacks do is continue to reduce the medias credibility in their coverage of her, and her ability to swat the criticisms away so easily adds tremendous credibility to her ability to deal with adversity.
