Anarchists. They think they are the coolest thing, tricked out in balaclavas, bandannas, punk style and black clothes. Reminds me of the garb we wore in college, except the bandannas weren’t a tear gas shield, but a hair accessory. We didn’t run riot in the streets, either, just skulked past our exasperated parents, who were busy counting the hours until we “grew out of” this phase.
But the “Black Bloc” crowd at the G20 Summit had a different agenda: making a statement against “corporate power,” “global governance” or any people who had more money than they did. So they smashed store windows, torched police cars, smeared themselves with baby oil and mugged for the cameras.
How avant-garde. How creative. Not. For their performance, I give them a one out of 10. If this were a reality show, Simon Cowell would hiss them off the stage. And the business-owners and residents of Queen Street would probably have liked to do worse, as these hooligans smashed in their windows and trashed their neighbourhood.

What would sound better is make an example out of him. Jail him for ten years and make him pay for all the damage caused in Toronto. If he can’t he stays in the bucket until he can.
Call it a “debtors prison”.
I’ve always wondered who pays for these masked individuals to show up at these big get togethers. Without any proof I’ve often wondered if they aren’t paid props to make the world leaders and their meetings look more important than they actually are.
I wonder also Joe. No idea but my bottom line remains.
Pick one who is famous and make him (or her) pay for it all.
Jaggi is today’s hero. Let’s cause him a real problem and turn him into the worlds biggest beggar.
Every nickel of police costs and property damage suffered by Toronto to police this event falls on his shoulders.

Yes, wasn’t it embarrassing? I hope that O’Reilly and the American viewers don’t think that Salutin is a typical Canadian . The guy is a dolt and his act of raising his eyebrows to give the impression that he is a deep thinker was particularly galling to say nothing of being misleading.
Every protester that is arrested should be put on a no fly list. That will curtail the rent a mob. Video cameras should also be used to identify the culprits (ban the masks and make it a criminal offence). This is how soccer cleaned up hooligans from travelling abroad and causing trouble. Cheers.
