#2 — Confederate Yankee | No, Texas Hasn’t Been Invaded
Twitter exploded a while ago about this story, which claims that heavily-armed Los Zetas gunmen of the Gulf Cartel have taken over ranches on the U.S. side of the border.

#3 — Cypress Times | LOS ZETAS TAKES OVER TEXAS RANCHES, NOT A PEEP FROM MSM
But is the story True or False? And why we’re sticking with it until the end.

#4 — RightPundits.com | Los Zetas Drug Cartel Seizes Ranches In Texas Not True? Well…….
UPDATE: There seems to be confusion from readers about this story concerning two things. One, the link to a year old Houston Chronicle article and two the video by Glenn Beck at the bottom. This post is about the rumor of the Los Zetas seizing control of ranches in Texas. Some report they have, others refute that. I have provided a link to a story from May of 2009, which could have contributed to the confusion of the Zetas and ranches in Texas, and a Glenn Beck video that speaks to the history of the Zetas and the overall Mexican Drug war. I am not in anyway trying to use those links as a confirmation as to the validity of the original story. I am providing more links at the bottom as they become available.

#5 — Houston Chronicle | FBI: Texas drug cell trains on own ranch

#6 — DBKP | Mexican Drug Cartel Seizes Two Texas Ranches
There’s a story unfolding in South Texas involving local authorities who refuse or deny two South Texas ranches were taken over last night by a Mexican drug cartel, the Los Zetas, with the ranchers “escaping without incident”. That there could be, currently underway, an operation involving local authorities and federal authorities involving the two ranches which includes a media blackout of the news. Which, based on earlier incidents involving the border related to Mexican military helicopters sighted near Laredo, doesn’t surprise us. Since filing our latest post we’ve discovered that, in 2005, the Department of Intelligence sent out an “Intelligence Bulletin” warning local authorities to be on the look out for the very dangerous Los Zetas drug cartel, the same cartel which is allegedly involved in the purported hostile takeover of two South Texas ranches. In 2008, the Dallas Morning News reported Mexican cartels were operating military-type training camps located “just across the border” in an area near where the two ranches are located.

Video: The Harsh Realities Along the Mexican Border (Warning – Extremely Graphic)
Notes:
As readers can see the story is very confused at the moment and hard to verify but I will say this. Even if true, in no way can the armed takeover of a couple of ranches in Texas by violent Mexican criminals be confused with an “armed invasion” which would be an entirely different matter. Having said that I will also add that if you have the stomach to watch the video (it is really gross) you will clearly understand why states on the US southern border are so upset with the “numphie” in Washington.
More Notes:
There is a political solution to this I think and it goes something like this. Mexico approaches the UN and wishes to create a “buffer zone” on their northern border (let’s call it 100 miles so crooks can’t build tunnels). The UN agrees as does the US and more importantly the US and Canada supply the troops and law enforcement personnel (no Mexicans because they must all be assumed to be crooks) under UN auspices. All of a sudden the crooks find themselves adrift as the border area becomes secure and people living near it come under UN protection.
The murders end because what is a crook supposed to do in such circumstances?
Perhaps build more submarines?
Just kicking thoughts around while they occur to me and probably worthless because we all know how the UN is but I throw them out for consideration because somehow the mayhem must stop. I think a UN “buffer zone” is the best solution because Mexico would lose no territory and gain peace. Everyone would be a winner except of course the crooks.
I could say a lot more as ideas invade my tiny brain but for now I will let this rest.
“Nuff said.”
