Obama's Mosque Problem (8-Bumped)

Nine years after 9/11, the site of the Twin Towers is still an open sore on the face of New York — a festering reminder of the terror attack which claimed almost 3,000 lives.

To add insult to injury, in the eyes of the victims’ families and the majority of Americans, approval has just been granted for a mosque to be built two blocks away from Ground Zero.

What began as a local planning dispute could come to determine the fate of Barack Obama’s Presidency.

In favour: America’s liberal elite. Against: 70 per cent of the American people. With crucial mid-term elections looming in November, the President finds himself marooned on the wrong side of public opinion. It could cost him control of Congress and, in two years’ time, the White House itself. At an event to mark the Muslim festival of Ramadan, Obama backed the plans for a mosque and Islamic cultural centre 400 yards from Ground Zero, saying: ‘As a citizen and a President, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practise their religion as anyone else in this country.

‘That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community centre on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances.’

He also managed to ignite the Bible Belt and God-fearing, moderate Middle America by proclaiming that Islam was a major force in ‘advancing justice, progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings’ and had ‘always been part of America’.

I can’t believe Obama waded into this New York issue.  Its a limelight thing with Obama – he wasn’t centre stage, therefore he inserted himself into the debate.  Leadership is not only leading from the front but being prudent.  “Mission Accomplished”,  he has become the focal point and I hope he enjoys the attention.  Cheers.

He still thinks that his dulcet tone of voice, pregnant dramatic pauses in his speeches looking ” serious & firm ” to each side at his audience that he can convince everyone that his words are ” golden irresistible logic ” that no one can resist being convinced in the rightness of his words.

” If I use a convincing tone, even if there is no substance to my words, I can convince anyone and everyone ” plus he probably drinks his own coolaid and is so certain that he is right that he can’t believe that he can’t fix any dispute with words.

You nailed it Jean, very well put. And that makes Obama a very dangerous person if he ever steps out of his own fantasy and realizes the audience is either laughing at him or worse …pities him.

Meanwhile we have to look after ourselves. Clearly the government cannot be trusted anymore if something like Obama can get elected to the most powerful position in the world.

No we aren’t headed toward 100% debt to GDP  like the USA with no budget to stop that viscious circle. We’ll cap at 40% and we have a plan to be in surplus in 3 years. Plus our pensions are funded.

We know Iggy will grow govenment Nanny State programs. We know the progressive media hates PMSH.

That’s all you need to know to “decide”.

  6. Every comment is bang on.  Who?  Who would trust any politician or government in this day and age to do the right thing.  The only blessing right now is that ordinary, caring individuals are waking up.  These individuals are the answer and as the next few months unfold it is this group that will understand what needs to be done and how.  Anyone trusting any government, politician, court or media outlet is a fool.
I have full confidence in humanity to see the big picture and understand what a wonderful world we have.  This will happen, cheers, Bruce

I just bumped this entry to the top as I feel it the most important news today.  Obama has just buggered off for another vacation.  My question is “Does this guy ever do anything besides vacation and party?”

It would seem not. He appears to be doing his best impression of Ronald MacDonald.

“Does this guy ever do anything besides vacation and party?”

Yeah actually he does, Jack.  He preachs endlessly to the rest of us dummies who don’t appreciate him for what and more importantly who he is.  An unappreciated gift to America and in fact the entire world.  He’s tied neck and neck with the Peanut President Carter today in the polls.  Quite an achievent in such a short time, but then again nothing is impossible for a ’living God’.

On vacation or just hiding?  Perhaps far enough away that we can’t hear his great wracking sobs as he realizes his dream of being crowned the second ‘King of the World’, going down the drain.

  10. Jack says:

Just added a video I like.  My view is that the GOP will beat the “Dem’s” to death with Obama’s latest gaff as they focus on Taqiyah and note that Americans cannot believe a word he says.

It’s what Muslims do routinely and the man is going to come a cropper very soon as the argument continues to turn to religion.

Do I think he is Muslim?

Yes I do and the more he talks the worse it gets for him.  This entire argument is not about “law” — it is about “feeling” and there is not one US voter who will walk into a local booth and think about the Constitution in November.

Instead, they will vote with their hearts (as always) and that puts “paid” to Democrat dreams as each and every voter makes a decision about religion and fires Muslim supporters everywhere.

In short — Americans won’t much care about law as they wipe out Muslim influence in their land.

My view — “Dems” are “done like dinner” and I’ll tell you something else.  Canada will see and follow in time because we all come from the same family.

The “Left” in Canada is done like dinner also and for the same reason.

Muslims are killing our soldiers and Muslim influence in our country is going to end also.

It’s over and they have lost.  It’s just a matter of time.

  11. Jack says:

I might add that I talk to much.  I should just “shut up” and let it happen as should we all.

Let the media go where they want to go — they are not trusted and they influence nobody.

The matter will be decided in the voting booth and the polls constantly being “ballyhooed” by the nitwits who generate such “news” mean nothing at all.  If I were to guess I would bet that Harper can call an election anytime now and he will go in “in a landslide”.

He will have his majority and Jane Tabor will “pee her panties” as she wonders where it all went wrong.  In truth there is no wonder at all.

I never watch CBC, Fay.  And I have banned CTV from this site.

I have no time for “apparatchniks” and only display their stories when they appear like idiots.  That so my visitors can have some fun.

In truth, Canada is fed bullshit day in and day out by our “unbiased” media.  I’m not going there and as I “cherry pick” I try to find truth amongst the lies.  It’s a very hard job but I suspect it will become easier when “Fox North” comes online.

I look forward to it and encourage Harper to do everything he can to make it happen.

Stay away from it. Sun TV News online, that is.

Cheers yourself, oh snobby one. The business I’m in precludes me from using anything other than Windows and I’m not in the business of re-inventing the wheel on operating systems for others. I just use the platform in order to earn a living. So do my clients. Doesn’t mean I have to like Microsoft, but I ain”t Bill Gates in size to spend more of my time and money finding out how to run my business on a Mac and get my clients to change too, just so guys like you don’t look down your long snotty noses at us. They’re profit motivated like me.

If Sun TV News wants a seamless experience for their viewers, fix the problem. As it is, they just lost a viewer. I can get my news off the National Post instead.

Regarding the NY mosque, it occurs to me that that area around the Twin Towers is sacred to both sides so don’t expect either side to give up, or give in early.

It is obvious to the majority in the West especially the families of the 3000+ that were murdered almost a decade ago why they want the Twin Towers area preserved in perpetuity.  However we must accept that to the Muslims, the area is even more sacred because it represents THE Beach-head into the land of the Great Satan.  As a consequence, no amout of searching (read: attempted appeasing) by Patterson or anyone else for a different site for the Cordoba Preoject will be acceptable.  It will be that site and that site only.  Period!  End of story.

The upcoming mid-term election is the only event that can bring about sanity in this sordid affair.  And given the insanity so evident from the Big ‘O’ and Lap Dogs like Pelosi even the election may not change the minds of the New York Imams.

Freedom is a wonderful thing, but it can be ugly when celebrated without reason.
