Don’t confuse the dramatic swell of the Republican tide that is becoming increasingly evident to the pundits of the country with party trend.
Right before Election Day, the numbers will get even better and presage an even larger Republican victory.
Party trend usually indicates itself in the 10 days before an election when voters who do not typically follow politics closely tune in and decide for whom to vote. Until this window, they usually describe themselves to pollsters as “undecided.”
There will be a huge Republican Party trend this year, but it hasn’t happened yet.
Notes:
I like Dick’s reasoning. This would apply to Canadian polls also.
Dick Morris is a savvy political observer and is able to accurately depict trends and policies. I sincerely hope that the Democrats continue their pretense that the economy is in a “recovery summer” and not a summer recession leading to a depressed economy. People know that the White House and Congress are peddling snake oil. The tough medicine will come with the elections in November. Cheers.
Dick Morris’ other persona is to promote his web site and to raise money. I have observed that he will use polling numbers to create “panic” amongst his contacts thus requesting monies. his push to defeat ObamaCare “failed” as the votes were tallied as I think he mis-read some of the Senator’s intentions. His polling numbers let him down so to speak.
When being interviewed on Fox News, he always slips in the web address by requesting viewers go there to read his latest missive. and while you are there click on an advertiser!!
I think his polling is probably pretty good and accurate, but caution that there are other things at play.
I’m picking up on “party trend” and I think he’s correct. Canadian polls at this time mean “zip” unless of course you consider that a lot of very dumb people on the wrong side of the argument are wasting their money as they become frantic.
That’s OK. They can do that. More power to them because nobody is listening right now and they are spending their dollars.
Polls will begin to mean something about ten days before our next national election. Not before and that is what Dick shared with me today. I can hardly wait and have I mentioned that all those “undecides” we see every second day in our polls are the people who don’t give a damn at this time?
When you stop and think about it it’s like being struck by lightening but it’s true.
