Re:#1.  The Judge.  Highly respected by her peers  Demonstrated of exemplary character.  Highly respected by the legal community as a whole.  So she foolishly let her crackpot screwball lawyer husband take some picture so of her in private.  So what.  Her crackpot screwball husband admits his wife knew nothing of what he was up to with Alex Chapman.  The ‘victim’….convicted arsonist (since pardoned).  Did he burn something down to collect insurance money and thereby attempt to defraud an insurance company?  Come’on CBC, get off your collective butts and at least try and find out.  Now this lawsuit, is this just a continuing pattern of attempted fraud, a scam.  He is breaching a confidentially contract for which he accepted and was paid $25,000 to honour but it is he who is the victim and who is demanding $67M to sooth what he claims are his hurt feelings?  By his own demonstrated past deeds his word is at least worthy of some measure of skepticism.   He is the purveyor of previous law suits, two against the Winnipeg Police Service.  Professional complainer and shyster?  IMO he is likely to be made up of the stuff you scrape off the bottom on your shoe after a walk in the dog park.  The CBC, too many too highly paid too little initiative producers who haven’t got the time or inclination to do other than a cursory check (if even that) into Chapman’s background.  A highly successful woman’s career and in fact her very life has just been ruined by this guy.  Who is the genuine victim here?  Does anybody really care?

Re: #1 & #2 — I’m happy to see people coming out to defend Lori.  You would have to be blind not to be able to see this situation for the legal shakedown it obviously is. Kudo’s to Christie Blatchford for doing the same thing yesterday.

Why do we continue to fund this poor excuse for a tabloid to the tune of over $1BILLION a year.  One can only hope if Canadians give PMSH a majority that one of his first priorities is to axe the CBC.   Fire the entire useless lot of them, sell off its equipment and buildings and let’s be rid of it once and for all.

“This reporting was tabloid journalism at its worst, and an unwarranted attack on a respected member of the judiciary who enjoys an outstanding reputation,” Ken Mandzuik, president of the Manitoba Bar Association, said in the letter.

Obvioiusly this information was equally available to the CBC, had they bothered to look.

“The man at the centre of a Manitoba legal sex scandal which has forced the temporary reassignment of a judge has a long litigious history with provincial justice officials, a Free Press analysis has shown.”
