Gore: Global warming skeptics are this generation’s racists

One day climate change skeptics will be seen in the same negative light as racists, or so says former Vice President Al Gore.

In an interview with former advertising executive and Climate Reality Project collaborator Alex Bogusky broadcasted on UStream on Friday, Gore explained that in order for climate change alarmists to succeed, they must “win the conversation” against those who deny there is a crisis. “I remember, again going back to my early years in the South, when the Civil Rights revolution was unfolding, there were two things that really made an impression on me,” Gore said. “My generation watched Bull Connor turning the hose on civil rights demonstrators and we went, ‘Whoa! How gross and evil is that?’ My generation asked old people, ‘Explain to me again why it is okay to discriminate against people because their skin color is different?’ And when they couldn’t really answer that question with integrity, the change really started.”

    1) Ironic, considering Al Gore Sr. was known to have black “indentured servants” and voted against the 1964 Civil Rights Acts

    2) Perhaps Al Jr is exaggerating a bit. Sure there are a minority of conservatives who oppose environmenal initiatives with an almost segregationst zeal but most people would be happy to embrace environmental initiatives to reduce global warming. However, these initiatives have to be (1) affordable (2) provable. Most of the schemes presented so far aren’t either.

Interesting about Al Gore Sr. The emporer has no clothes.

By linking global warming deniers to racists, Gore not only minimizes the dehumanizing black slaves experienced, he diminishes the giants of the civil rights movement. They had cause to challenge the status quo. Gore does not because the issue now is not so much about global warming per se as it is how it is caused.

Moreover, they can scream until the cows come home but there simply is not enough science to prove global warming is man caused or if it actually exists at all. I mean the globe warms and cools all the time.

Nor, is there enough science to indicate that human behaviour can change anything. That’s the ultimate arrogance IMO.

No, people are onto to Gore’s armchair socialism. It’s all about redistributing wealth and nothing more.

Frankly, I’m sick and tired of people like Gore calling themselves progressives. They are not. They are repressives.

Gore and McKibben are both nuts. Thank God a moron like Gore never got the keys to the White House. Although the clown in there now is about as bad as it can get.
