Fischer: Liars, Damned Liars, and Harry Reid (1)

Harry Reid wants to see more of Mitt Romney’s past income-tax filings.  Debbie Wasserman Schultz wants to see 23 years of his taxes.  This, from the die-hard supporters of a candidate who will not release his college transcripts or so much more.

I want to know how Barack Obama got into Columbia University for undergraduate school.  I want to see his application.  Did he seek extra consideration, as did Elizabeth Warren in applying for her academic opportunities, by claiming to be a member of a demographic group favored by affirmative action?  I imagine that he did not falsely claim special treatment on a theory of being foreign-born, but I would like to know for sure.  It is immaterial where he was born — I want to know whether he claimed on his applications, as his book publisher later would write about him, that he had overcome the disadvantages of being foreign-born.  What did he write to the dean of admissions of Columbia University about his childhood, his education, his background?  Every college-transfer application to Columbia requires that the student write a narrative, tell his story, explain why he deserves a crack at the Ivy League after a brief sojourn at a lesser institution.

All else aside, Obama has never been vetted. Period. Few know what or who he was before he ran for POTUS or even after completion of his first term. Supporting a person for the most important job in the country, who couldn’t get a job at 7-11 with such an obviously deliberately concealed past, cannot help but leave the impression that approximateoy 50% of American voters fall under the category of useful idiots. Astonishing situation really.

It may present a bit of a problem though…. do we need to be able to differentiate between the two birther camps? Maybe “birther[r]” and “birther[l]” for right & left? Is it important? Only the “if yer not with us then by gum ye must be agin us” crowd — unfortunately it’s an all to common mindset at both ends of the political spectrum these days.

On the up side, all that crowd has really accomplished (with their political betters in legislatures across the land) is a general decline in percentages of people participating in elections, coupled with a decline in trust in the political process and of politicians in general.

Back when I had my own blog I likened what we laughingly call political debate these days to trench warfare — where each side pops a head up long enough to lob an insult at their political opposites, then ducks down to be cheered by their mates and check the latest talking point sheet before doing it all over again.

SL are you drinking this early in the morning? The fact is according to the US constitution the president can not be a citizen of another nation. That is not conspiracy that is fact. There has been a believable allegation that Obama was at one point an Indonesian citizen. Let’s check it out. I don’t think that anyone disputes that the President is an American citizen, what is in doubt is if he meets the other criteria above.

Now, it’s loony conspiracy theory to believe this to be fact without proof, but there seems to be enough to at least legitimately asks the question.

I support BTDT. It is clear that once a political charlatan gets to call the shots anything can happen and in this case he did and it has.

I have lined up “stuff” for tomorrow which points it out. For now I will only say (and I’ve said this from the beginning) that Obama is in power thanks to a very weird US media who refuses to point out that the “building janitor” has taken over as CEO of the largest corporation America is aware of.

        Their government.

I suppose it had to happen at some point considering the lies that have been pandered by “he who walks on water” over the years but don’t you dare try to sell me on the idea that he is being “picked on”.

He is not. He is the biggest, “lieingest” asshole I have ever seen appear in American politics and the media who support him are “assholes” also for the very same reason. Not one of them can walk and chew bubble gum at the same time and yet they dare to call themselves “journalists” as they continue to fib daily to the very people they count on to support their news organizations. Small wonder people are no longer watching or buying their very stupid “papers” as they dig their hole deeper.

Here’s a thought. Instead of the NY Times continuing to support this “nattering nabob of negativity” it might be better if they came down on him like the hammers of hell.

I don’t expect that to happen but they might actually save themselves. There’s still time.

I will also add that you have frequently questioned why anyone in Canada would care about a US election. I’ll tell you why.

Everytime the US “elephant” gets the “sniffles” Canada ends up with pneumonia. And that’s just the way things are. Get used to it.

        Of course we should care.

        Update:

It’s been a long day as I went to London to have a small part on my new car replaced (warranty). Nothing to do with anything important but I had a short chat with the lady who sold me that car and apparently GM products in Canada are going like hotcakes. Likely due to the “0″ percent financing available now for those who are interested.

If you need a new car I recommend “buy”. This offer won’t last long and any GM dealer “same, same”.

Have I mentioned lately that my new “Terrain” is much cheaper than a Volvo XC 90 and is much better equipped? Probably not but it is. About “half the price”. I really like it.

Actually it’s a combination. Conspiracy and massive deleliction of duty. The list is long but for the shake of brevity the conspiracy begins with the sealing of personal records from scrutiny. Privacy? Somebody running for POTUS is entitled to keep his past a secret? Gimme a break. Next the introduction of both willing and unwilling co-conspirators such as the appointment of a good and loyal friend as AG to make allegations of illegality ‘go away’. Next, to avoid legally mandated vetting designed to protect America by conducting an end run around Congress and appointing multi-dozens of fiercely loyal and obedient czars to do one’s bidding. The careful selection of even more co-conspirators. People without the moral courage to speak out for fear of reprisals. People with the attitude “I don’t care what is happening around me, as long as it does not affect me”. People who just don’t want to become involved. These people assist in the covering up of scandals and illegal and unethical behaviour.

Those who continue to defend the indefensible simply refuse to believe that such things have let alone could have happened. These same deniers IMO could stand in front of a house fully ingulfed in flames and ask fire, what fire?

stageleft I can respect the argument that any conspiracy theory has to be approached with skepticism and only invested in if supported by proof, but I also disagree with dismissing the possibility using ridicule to discredit the legitimacy of even asking asking the question(s).
So believing without proof is silly, but refusing to look serious if there is proof is equally ” unwise ” and irrational.

As to the other conspiracy theory like the 911 one(s) and Rosie O’Donnell’s ideas that steel doesn’t melt, these can and have been refuted by credible science: Now, even if I believe that this specific conspiracy theory doesn’t make sense one refutes it by using competent experts and one does look at evidence for the theory to be credible or not: One, doesn’t just laugh it off and refuse to look into it.

Before Obama’s name was allowed on the ballot a whole lot of people and agencies made sure that it was legally entitled to be there – the checks and balances for that position, especially in the age of paranoia America has lived in since September 11, 2001, must be absolutely mind blowing.

In Joes case …. yeah, I was mocking him – he deserves it, in your case the following is a simple straight up statement of the way I see it – no mocking, and no ridicule involved.

To believe that Obama was not legally qualified to have his name on the ballot would mean believing that all of the government people and all of the government agencies tasked with the legal vetting process were either involved in a conspiracy, or were all, in their totality, grossly incompetent.

And even were either of those scenerios possible it would mean believing that the GoP, and all of the considerable resources at their disposal, were either involved in the conspiracy, or were also grossly incompetent in their vetting process by not discovering that Obama was not legally entitled to have his name on the ballot.

One would also have to believe that the Democrats were either incompetent in their internal vetting process, or involved in one of the most politically damaging conspiracies they could possibly involve themselves in.

I cannot believe either in grand conspiracies involving so many different people, agencies, and political parties, without common cause — or that that sort of massive simultaneous failue of multiple processes is remotely possible.
