I don't know why the Liberals are getting all worked up about this. Their party was taken over long ago by the left. Bob Rae knows all about that stuff.

So does Joe Clark.

I see no hope for the Liberals in the near future because they have yet to understand that their party was co-opted decades ago by "PET" and this very day they still can't figure out what happened to them as Canadian voters (slow learners at the best of times) finally had an "ahaaa" moment.

Fortunately for Canada a man came along who saw the problem and worked long and hard (with much help). Today his creation (somewhat changed) runs this country.

Nothing will change for Liberal political fortunes until they too go through the same gut-wrenching process. Not that I care. Four decades of highly embarrassing political stupidity was quite enough, thank you. I look forward to many more years of competent conservative rule for myself and my children. After all, turn about is fair play and this whine looks really good on them. One of many we have been hearing over the past few years as their impotent party "apparichiks" cry in their beer.

Will it ever change?

Perhaps but not in my lifetime unless they learn their lesson.

So far "no cigar".

Please stress that it was a liberal govt that took those pension funds, not a conservative one. And perhaps the liberal party should have to repay them, not the taxpayers of today.

Yesterday there was a congressional hearing re unions. Seems lots of union members are rebelling at having their dues used for political purposes, that members have no say in. It was reported by one union member that over 20% of union members vote republican. If the bill to ban union spending on anything other than union business passes, how long before canadian union members demand the same thing. Especially after Ken L was responsible for those lost jobs in London, Ont.

First thing to change re EI is number of hours worked. It should be the same all across Canada. And next, if you have worked in province x, and go home to province y, you should have to follow the rules from the province you worked in. 420 hours in the Atlantic area to 720 in AB. to qualify. My son had a heart attack a couple of years ago, and could not collect as he was 10 hours short. At one time EI paid to help workers move from one area to another, maybe they should bring that back.

It is amazing to me the consensus media continue to hide the truth about global warming . I used to trust CBC and CTV until the internet. Thank goodness we have left those times behind us.

I have family that farms near Killam. The name is pronounced killem and reports said that they had a drive safe sign on the highway that said, "we love our children, Killam". Its a nice quiet town with a few loose nuts just like every other human community. Its sad to see anyone get shot especially a police officer. Unfortunately the RCMP have lost a lot of the respect they used to have. What with political correctness and members moving in an out of the community the locals just don't trust/respect them like they used to. Years ago near a town south of Killiam, when the RCMP first began to deploy women to patrol in rural areas, one female officer wound up handcuffed to the outside of her car after she stopped a couple of local 'toughies' whom she suspected were drinking and driving. She transferred out. The toughies were soon taught a lesson when the local boys took a round out of them for doing that to a police officer and a woman. For some reason the local RCMP didn't show up to stop the fight until well after the fight was over.

Mayerthorpe redux.

Send two cops out into the boonies to exercise a gun warrant. On who? Well, we can't tell you, because, well, because it might impact the privacy of well, someone. BUT THERE IS A GUN INVOLVED.... BY A MEMBER OF THE WHACKO PUBLIC, HEAD FOR THE HILLS, 'CAUSE ONE GOT AWAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Alberta just signed a twenty year (count 'em 20) contract with RCMP to provide police services outside of the major urban centers. Ed Stelmach's present to the taxpayers before he retired to the pig farm. That's a story in itself, because it puts paid to Wildrose Party's promise to forming our own provincial force, one of their policy objectives. Contract. Break. $$$$$$$$$$$$. Politics.

Are we short staffed? Who knows, but I drive all over Alberta to go to work and I see one.....sometimes. A thin red line.

The values that Mr Caplan expresses are not my values. They are his values and his alone. The fact that he has a pulpit to preach his from and I do not, do not make his mine or right.

I cried.......with laughter over some of the fat head comments. Who ARE these people, OWS members? I'm 60 this year and was doing a young man's job out here, until 4 months ago. In Ontario's case, get out of Ontario and find a job out here, because your current government is trashing your economy. It won't recover. Ditch the attitude that you received less/paid more crap and get a job. As for Quebec, they can KMA. their problems are their own doing.

Average house price in Calgary is $365,000, no PST, lower corporate tax rates, the place is practically empty. Population 1.2 million.... the size of Mississauga. It costs me heat, light, water, taxes.....$490.00 a month for a 1320 sq ft bungalow. Beat that. Saskatchewan has just exceeded 1 million people. That province is booming, but still "empty". Literally. I'm retiring to Maple Creek, just north of the Cyprus Hills. Small, quiet, off the beaten track, an hour or so to the "Hat". Summers are fabulous there. Winters, well colder but not nearly as much snow to throw as Ontario.

We have schools here, paved highways, Timmies and miles and miles of.........miles.
