I see the odd query asking who I am and it’s a fair question so I have decided to recreate this page again today.
As many of my visitors already know I am a retired police officer. My policing career began in 1965 with the Canadian Provost Corps which later (1966) was dissolved and became the Canadian Military Police. In 1977 I left the military and took up employment at the University of Western Ontario security department (which later became the University Police).
In 1979 I moved on to the Tillsonburg Police and in 2000 was rebadged through an OPP takeover as a constable in the OPP. That is where I finished my career in 2006 (I retired because I had medical issues and “quite frankly” I was tired of it all). I chose as my “logo” a dinosaur because indeed I am and was often referred to that way in the waning years of my career by my fellow officers (I’m 67 now).
“Not much between the horns but REALLY BIG TEETH” was a comment frequently made by my workmates when I was around.
Everyone laughed, including me — and they still do when discussing me as far as I know.
Shortly after I began my retirement I realized that I had a “gift” with computers (I’m entirely self-taught) and I needed something to do with my time. This website is the result.
I felt that I was reading a lot of news everyday and why not share it?
Maybe others were interested in what I was following? And because this is very easy stuff for me to do with people like “Cy” helping in the background when problems arose I saw no reason not to post the links I was following online.
And so here I am.
I make no money from this site — nothing at all. I just do it because it keeps me busy and if it helps other bloggers or news organizations along the way so much the better.
For me this is entertainment. For others I’m not certain. I tend to link a lot of very bad news but I take it where I find it and that’s the bottom line.
I should also note that this site is NOT influenced by any police organization I have ever worked for. What you see is what you get — important to me and in many cases causing a heart attack for my old bosses.
I walk my own path now.
Have a great day.
